Northeast Ohio Golf Courses: Fill Next Season's Outings Now

Courses, clubs and golf brands in Northeast Ohio book next season in the off-season. Here's the content that gets outings and memberships signed.

By Kameron Rudd · October 30, 2026 · 5 min read

The leaves are down, the last outing of the year is in the books, and the course is quiet. For a lot of golf businesses in Northeast Ohio, this feels like the end of the season.

It's actually the start of the next one. The companies, charities and families planning next summer's outings are deciding right now where to book.

How outings really get booked

An event planner or a nonprofit board member in Akron or Cleveland usually starts by searching online, asking around, and scrolling. They want to picture their event at your course. If all they find is a rate sheet PDF and some drone shots from 2019, they keep looking.

The courses and clubs that win outings make it easy to imagine the day: the check-in table, the shotgun start, the 19th hole, the photos people want to post afterward.

Content that sells outings

  • Recap videos of real outings. Sixty seconds of a great day: arrivals, swings, laughs, awards. This is your most valuable sales asset and most courses never make one.
  • Organizer testimonials. A quick clip of the person who planned the event saying "they made it easy" is worth more than any brochure.
  • The behind-the-scenes. How your team sets up, the food, the hole sponsors. Planners want to know you've done this a hundred times.
  • The course in its best light. Golden-hour footage of signature holes. Shoot it once, use it all year.

For clubs: memberships are a story too

Country clubs across Summit and Cuyahoga County are competing for younger families and professionals. Those people don't join because of a facilities list. They join because they can see themselves there.

Show the Friday night dinners, the junior clinics, the members who became friends. Show what belonging feels like.

For golf brands: the off-season is product season

If you make or sell golf products, winter is when golfers in Ohio are dreaming about spring and buying gear. Indoor sims, product close-ups, gift guides and founder stories all perform while people can't play.

Your off-season checklist

  1. Pull together every photo and clip from this year's outings.
  2. Turn the best one into a 60-second recap reel.
  3. Ask two or three organizers for a short testimonial.
  4. Post consistently through winter so you stay top of mind when bookings open.
  5. Next season, plan to film every major outing on purpose, not by accident.

The bottom line

Golf in Ohio is seasonal. Marketing golf in Ohio shouldn't be. The courses that look busiest next summer are the ones telling their story this winter.
